Who’s Who?

The Beaumont Teaching & Learning Team

Sarah Hosegood @S_White81

I have been working at Beaumont since 2007 and am the Assistant Headteacher in charge of Teaching and Learning. I am most interested in trying new teaching ideas to engage and motivate students, sharing these widely around the school, in particular through the Beaumont Teaching and Learning Advent Calendar. I have been recently disgusted that my students think I am a southerner when I am a born and bred northerner! I need to bring back my accent!

Zoe Shepherd @zoe_sheps and @beaumontdrama

I am the Head of Drama and the T&L Lead Practitioner working across the school on Teaching and Learning. I am the lead teacher on the Beaumont Skills for Success programme. My particular interests are in independent learning and pupils’ active engagement in learning. I also run INSET sessions on Teaching and Learning for other schools locally and I’m a Drama adviser for Herts For Learning. In a former life I was a professional actor including appearing in Les Miserables in the West End. My ambition is to be 5 feet tall.

Hanh Doan (Music) and James Goddard (ICT and Computing)

Google Classroom Champions

We are both responsible for the smooth running of the implementation of Google Suite for Education across the school.

Our aims for 2016-2017:

  1. To implement the use of Google Suite for Education in all areas of the school.
  2. To support staff and student in the integration of Google Suite for Education into every day teaching and learning.
  3. Development and research of new strategies to encourage students’ higher-level thinking, and to challenge them in the classroom. The main aim is to support students in gaining a better understanding of how they learn.

Fiona Rosler (Maths – Numeracy Co-Ordinator)

T&L Lead Teacher

I joined Beaumont as an NQT in 2011 and have been involved with the T&L Team for several years. This year, I am the lead teacher on the Skills for Success programme and will be hosting some ‘marking parties’ over the coming year – watch this space! I am also the Numeracy Coordinator within the Maths Department and run Beaumont Maths Week and the UKMT Maths Challenges. Last year, I did some research into time-saving marking strategies and am always interested in hearing about how these strategies have been used so please continue to share your feedback with me.

Megan Anderson (Geography)

T&L promotion and research

I joined Beaumont in 2015 as an NQT in the geography department. This year I am taking responsibility for promoting the Teaching and Learning team and strategies. I will be using a range of platforms to promote the strategies, ideas and successes of the team.  Additionally, I am completing a MSc in Teaching and Learning and hope to be able to use this to bring more research into the school.

Brenda Austin (Business and Economics)
